Lorcana Is Re-Releasing Its First Chapter Booster Boxes Through A Lottery System

Jul 01, 2025

Eight sets down and two more to come before the end of 2025, Disney Lorcana's The First Chapter almost feels like it released a lifetime ago at this stage. There might even be players among you who hadn't even started collecting Lorcana cards when The First Chapter released, which is why Ravensburger is rolling out a very limited re-release of the TCG's debut set.

Announced during this weekend's Lorcana World Championships, The First Chapter's booster box is getting re-released in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Ravensburger will be holding a lottery system to determine who gets the opportunity to buy products from the re-released set, which will hopefully ensure the booster boxes end up in the hands of people who want them and not just scalpers and resellers.

Palace Heist is a huge step up from last year's Deep Trouble and a great sign for future Illumineer's Quests.

Entries for the lottery system are now open, and you have until 9 pm PST on July 7, 2025, so make sure you're a part of it. There are a couple of hoops you need to jump through during the entry process, but again, all of that is in place to make sure Lorcana collectors and players are the ones who end up with the opportunity to buy these cards.

Part of that process includes signing up for an EQL account. The account is tied to any previous Lorcana lotteries you may have entered, which means not only does it prevent scalpers from buying up stock, but it will also prioritise those whose previous entries were unsuccessful. Successful entrants should be notified by July 10, purchases will be processed the following day, and then your First Chapter boxes will be with you three to four weeks later.

As for what you'll have to choose from should you get the opportunity to buy items from The First Chapter re-release, there are a few items up for grabs for those of you in the US. Only one of them will include English versions of the cards, though - The First Chapter booster box, which includes 24 booster packs with 12 cards in each box and costs $143.99.

Smaller Japanese and Chinese booster boxes that cost $45.99 and $49.99, respectively, will also be available to US customers. Those who make it through the lottery system can select two units each of up to four available products,

Alongside the limited re-release of First Chapter booster boxes, Ravensburger has also announced the return of products from the three expansions that followed it - Rise of the Floodborn, Into The Inklands, and Ursula's Return. No need to enter a lottery and cross your fingers in the hope you get picked for those. They're all available now through Ravensburger's online store, but I can't imagine they'll be around for long.
